David Neligan has been dealing in fine antiques, art and distinctive furnishings for almost 35 years.  David is an experienced general appraiser with a comprehensive knowledge of antiques, fine arts and furnishings in addition to being a licensed and bonded auctioneer.  David started his career in New York City at John Fleming Inc. Rare Books.  Then David spent over five years at Christie's where he occupied various positions.  He developed a strong interest in English and European furniture, and after leaving Christie's returned as a consultant cataloging furniture for Christie's East Auctions.  David also worked at Provence Antiques in the Carlyle Hotel.  In 1986, David joined Skinner Inc. Auctioneers where he held the position of Director of English & Continental Furniture and Decorative Arts.  Also, he started the Oriental Works of Art and Fine Silver departments.

In 1992 David opened his fine antique shop and appraisal shop in Essex, Massachusetts.  David works with a wide variety of clients, dealers, collectors, designers, and occasionally museums.  David's experience includes appraising the personal collection of Henry Francis DuPont at Winterthur and the entire collection of antique furniture at Harvard University.  Today, David routinely provides guidance and often leases antiques to movie companies.  David is a member of the Art & Antique Dealers League of America.
